Struck by Flavor: Introducing Thorson’s Lightning in a Bottle

Meet the Flavor Picker: From Hawaii to Sarasota

Behind the Strings & The Spice

Music and food have one big thing in common: composition. You need the right notes, the right rhythm, and just enough "soul" to make it memorable.

For those of you who follow my journey with Thorson Moore Music, you know I’m all about keeping it local, authentic, and high-energy. Whether I'm on stage with local bands or in the studio working on a new album, I put everything I have into the craft. That’s why I’m beyond excited to finally pull back the curtain on our newest project—one that hits a different kind of high note.

I teamed up with my buddy over in Ohio of “Taste Deaf Chef” and we have a great flavor hot sauce to now share. As a spicy tropical flavor picker myself, I knew right where this hot sauce journey needed to begin. Big thank you to Taste Deaf Chef that we are able to make this all come to life.

I’ve spent my life chasing the perfect harmony—whether that’s a guitar solo in a crowded Sarasota club or the perfect balance of heat and sweet in a bottle.

Most of you know me from the stage, playing with local bands or performing my original music around town. But my roots go back to Hawaii, where I was born. That island influence is in my DNA, and it’s exactly why Pineapple had to be used as the debut flavor for Thorson’s Lightning in a Bottle.

I wanted to take that tropical Hawaiian upbringing and fuse it with the high-energy lifestyle of a Florida musician. This sauce is handcrafted, small-batch, and built to support the very thing that keeps our community vibrant: Live Local Music.

“I wanted to create something that hits like a great song—starts with a hook and leaves you wanting more.” — Thorson Moore

Thorson’s Hot Sauce Flavors / Bottled by our musical chef friends over at: Taste Deaf Chef

Many of you know me as a guitar player and singer here in Sarasota, but my story actually starts under the Hawaiian sun. Being born in Hawaii gave me a lifelong obsession with loving tropical flavors—specifically the perfect pineapple.

When I moved to Florida, I always wanted to find a way to fuse those island roots with the Sarasota vibe.

Today I’m excited about a new found result, Thorson’s Lightning in a Bottle Pineapple Flavor. It’s a tribute to my name, my music, and my heritage. Instead of a heavy metal hammer, my weapon of choice is the Pineapple Mjölnir.

Thanks to teaming up with “Taste Deaf Chef” we were able to make this very first vision come to life.

I look forward to really digging deep soon in the tropical spice world and teaming up with locals to create fresh healthy unique hot sauce flavors.

The Flavor Setlist: "Pineapple Lightning"

This isn't just vinegar and heat. This is a complex, sweet-and-sour symphony.

Here’s the "setlist" of ingredients:

The Scorpion pepper is famous for its slow build heat, while the tangerine and maple syrup act like the backup singers—they bring the harmony and balance out the intensity.

The Sweet: Fresh pineapple, tangerine, apple cider, and a touch of maple syrup.

The Heat: A triple-threat of Scorpion, Habanero, and Jalapeño peppers.

The Soul: Bell peppers, red onion, garlic, lemon, lime, salt, and pepper.

It’s bright, citrusy, and has a creeping heat that builds like a drum solo. It’s perfect on fish tacos, grilled chicken, or even just some chips while you’re listening to a live set.

Freshly Composed & Handcrafted

To bring it to life at scale, I teamed up with a pro. My friend over at Taste Deaf Chef is hand-crafting and bottling this specific recipe fresh. He's currently based in Ohio, so right now he bottles the "Lightning" and ships it straight to me here in Sarasota, Florida so I can get it into your hands.

More Than Just Hot Sauce

Why sell hot sauces now? Because being a full-time musician in 2026 means getting creative. Every bottle you buy goes directly toward supporting my music, my albums, and also our mission at Heart Song Road Radio.

My wife Sanura, and I are building something special here. Between her work under our whole Heart Collective team, we are dedicated to supporting Sarasota’s local live music scene. When you buy a bottle, you aren’t just getting a condiment; you’re taking a part in keeping local music alive and loud.

How to Get Yours:

Since the sauces are handcrafted in small batches, they move fast!

Grab a bottle, play my latest album, and let’s bring the thunder to your kitchen. Thanks for supporting local music and local hot flavors!
