At The Heart Collective, we believe that art, music, and community are the pulse of a life well-lived. Today, we are turning our spotlight toward a new movement—a "Sarasota tradition" that honors the risk-takers and original sound creators of the Gulf Coast.
Our city is world-famous for its sunset beaches, its vibrant visual arts, and the grandeur of its opera. But there is another, rawer energy humming beneath the surface. It is the hidden "Heart Beat" of Sarasota: the Original Live Music being written in our living rooms and debuted in our local venues.
It’s as if Sarasota’s true soul is being written, note by note, by our independent creators. We believe it’s time we gave that soul a day of its own.
You know the feeling. You’re walking down Siesta Key or strolling through a Saturday market when you hear a melody that stops you in your tracks—a song you’ve never heard before. It isn't a tribute act, and it isn't a ghost of the past. It’s a song born right here under the Florida sun, straight from the mind and soul of a neighbor.
These are the risk-takers—the songwriters who put their original hearts on the line every time they step up to the mic.

We are thrilled to officially announce the first-ever Music Lovers Day, a celebration created by Heart Song Road Radio to honor the Original Sound of the Gulf Coast.
This isn’t just another live music event; it’s a standard we are setting for our city. It’s a day to declare, loud and clear: Original Live Music Rocks SRQ.
This day belongs to the quiet writer on their porch, the garage band finding their rhythm, and the professional songwriter, like our own Thorson Moore, who continues to "dial in" his heart and soul through his playing. Music Lovers Day is about ensuring their voices—and the songs of our city—are heard for generations to come.

This Holiday isn't just about listening; it's about active support. We needed a symbol that represented that active pulse of creativity meeting our beautiful coastal city.
This is the official logo of Music Lovers Day. It is the Musical Heart Spirit of Original Song.
The Red Heart: At the center lies a vibrant red heart, representing the pure passion and bravery of our independent musicians.
The Musical Swirl: Emanating directly from the heart is a swirling musical staff, representing the original notes being composed right now—far from the "ghosts of the past" or standard tribute acts.
The Gold Halo: A golden ring with a North Star at the top frames the heart, symbolizing the "Gold Standard" of quality and the guidance we offer our local artists.
The Skyline: Grounding the entire design is the blue silhouette of the Sarasota Skyline, showing that this movement is built on the foundation of our specific community.
The Multi-Layer Border: The powerful red and navy outer frame represents the commitment of the community to unite and protect its songwriters. It is a visual representation of how original music connects us all.
The "Heart Song Road" Anthem
To celebrate our songwriters—not just the "ghosts of the past" or tribute acts—we’ve created a sun-drenched, Americana anthem. It is a sunny tribute to the homegrown sounds of the Gulf Coast, and we want you to be the first to hear it.
This modern Americana track is a love letter to the "Sarasota dream" we are building together. With its fingerpicked acoustic guitar and warm, sincere vocals, the song captures the cozy, communal spirit of a new kind of holiday—one where we "let our own heart be part of this new Florida melody." Holiday Celebrated Once a year on the Last Saturday of the month of February
Save the Date: Join us on Saturday February 27, 2027 for the first official #MusicLoversDaySRQ celebration.
Location: Jungle Hideaway Sarasota (we will confirm soon)
Time: 5 PM to close.
Tickets: $15
Support Local Creators: Buy their digital tracks, original albums, get their merch, go see them play live locally, share their music, or go to a ticketed showcase where the music is 100% original.
